Culotte Series Part 3 - Party Culottes

It's the third and final instalment of my little culotte series!

For the last one I obviously had to go down the party route. I had to put together something you could shake your laffy taffy in, in da clewb. Something with a little bit of sparkle. I actually wore this outfit on NYE this year but sequins shouldn't be reserved for the festive season, they should be embraced all year round, don'tcha think?

Top (worn backwards) - Similar here
Culottes - Closet via ASOS
Heels - Primark

This outfit kept me dancing all night on NYE, I didn't have to panic about getting too drunk, turning into Betty Spaghetti and flashing my undergarments a la Britney Spears circa ....!!!

Even when it got a bit much and looked like I was going to have a little disco nap, the light would catch my sequins and perk me up again.

The little sequin number is actually a top I've worn backwards to add a little pizzazz to the ensemble.

But you could always whip it off and flail it around like a little sequin flag.

(Excuse my dusty butt, I must have lost balance and stumbled into the wall behind me).

If you've seen any of my other culotte looks, which was your favourite? If you haven't you can have a peek here and here

Farewell!

Culotte Series Part 2 - Smart Casj Culottes

Casj? Cadg? Cagjdgjd? What is the official spelling of the word?

So, here is part 2 of my little culotte series! I actually wore this outfit to work a couple of weeks ago so thought it was the perfect smart/casj (cadg, cagjdgjd etc) ensemble. It's the kind of thing you can wear to work and then straight on to the bar for some wine time.

Hat - ASOS
Necklace - eBay (I think)
Top - Love
Culottes - Closet via ASOS
Bag - Vintage, £1
Shoes - ASOS

This printed blouse is the perfect thing to team with plain black culottes and look at those dreamy sleeves. If anyone knows anywhere else that are doing tops with these bell sleeves, please let a sister know!

Please ignore the cat fluff stuck to me, Daisy likes to leave anything you want to stay black and pristine covered in her white fur. She likes to show off on my personal Instagram @soniaflower if you want to have a peep!

Anyway, I let the accessories do the talking with this outfit. I say I let them, but in reality I didn't have a choice.

You'd think this little fluff ball of a bag would be the loud one, crying for attention but you would be wrong.

Although definitely an eye-catching piece, she's actually quite shy and gets bossed around easily. Maybe her ego's bruised because I picked her up from a £1 bin in a vintage shop. Poor gal.

Soon, she wasn't allowed in these pictures at all and was tossed aside. I was manipulated by my hat and shoes, much to my surprise.

It got a bit much so I took off my hat in an attempt to gain some sort of freedom.

I was powerless and every time I took him from my skull, he made me put him straight back on in some sort of Michael Jackson inspired, smooth move.

I gave up.

And then my shoes started mis-behaving.

They look pretty cute and innocent with their fluffy pom-pom, but don't be fooled.

I tried to send them to the naughty corner but they wouldn't stop being silly and ended up making me dance like a fool.

I'm never wearing these shoes to the club, would you?

Culotte Series Part 1 - Comfy Culottes

Hello internet friends!

Today I thought I'd go for something a little bit different. Lately I've been loving the pants off my black culottes and have a few outfits I've worn lately for different occasions so I thought I'd do a little series showing how I personally style them!

Now culottes are probably one of those 'you either love them or you hate them' items. I think people could potentially find them quite unflattering but boy are they comfy. Mine are from Closet via ASOS and they're cheap as chips in the sale now for £17, here

The first outfit in this little series was something I wore for a day out in London last week. Let me introduce y'all...

This fluffy turtleneck of dreams is an ASOS number and is the perfect companion to culottes in this ghastly cold weather. Although I would normally go for something more fitted to balance out the bagginess of the culottes, I couldn't resist this little combo. They couldn't resist each other either.

They were flirting up a storm so I had to give the jumper a little tug...

Once I revealed her undergarments, it became apparent as to why she was being such a little minx. Her leopard print choker.

So bloody naughty.

If you're anything like me, you'll be freezing your little hiney off every time you step outside. This Monki coat is the answer to my prayers. It's oversized, a long length and a little bit fluffy. It also adds to the masculine vibe of this ensemble.

This little ASOS rucksack is my new bit on the side that follows me everywhere. He's the perfect size - he doesn't get too heavy, yet holds all my essentials.

Watch him do his thang...

Such a cutie.

Even when it all gets too much, when he's carrying one too many lipsticks for my weary shoulders to handle, he's always by my side.

He has attachment issues and can't be left alone for too long. Just thought I'd give you a heads up in case you ever decide to make one of his brothers yours.

Anyway, enough of the self-absorbed little prince, on to the finishing touch of my comfy culottes outfit. The shoes. I polished off this look with a pair of DM's and ASOS socks. Remember these guys from this post? My camel coat also made an appearance.

I hope you enjoyed this type of post and if you did, leave me a merry little comment!

My next culotte post will be an outfit I wore to work a couple of weeks a go - it's the type of thing that will take you from office to Friday night drinks.

Toodlepip!

If a Witch and a Care Bear had a love child...

You may think a black velvet dress and a pastel mint, fluffy coat are a match made in heaven. A clash of textures, a glorious concoction of light and dark, but you would be wrong. This is what happens when you cross a Care Bear and a Naughty Witch...

Mint Faux Fur

These two had me pulling my hair out. The Care Bear wanted me to be fun and cute, the Naughty Witch wanted me to be sultry and well, a little bit naughty.
It would always start with the Care Bear, making me feel shy and reserved and then the Naughty Witch would cackle and take back her power, turning me into a little vamp.
Sassy GIF

The Care Bear kicked its way back to power...

Rejoice! Oh wait...

Magic GIF

Bloody hell, she has powers! What a show off.
The sorcery terrified the little Care Bear...

But then it slowly plucked up the courage to come out and embraced it's cuteness like a little schoolgirl.
Peace

Victory!

Let's have a closer look at the beautiful honey.

Mint Faux Fur

If you listen really closely, you can hear the faint cackle of a Naughty Witch...
And with that, the true winner made me sashay with sass into the horizon.

Flappy Bird

On the weekend I thought I was a bird. After dreaming that I was flying above the clouds, I woke up craving worm-like strawberry laces. I cheeped to myself wondering how I was going to get my fix of some sweet, sweet laces and after realising I was going to have to leave my nest, I got out of bed with a flap.
Although a bright day with a blue sky and a happy sun, it was cold. Very bloody cold. I had to add on some extra feathers. I reached for this Urbancode coat.

I went with my instincts and started to search the ground for something delicious to eat.

As you can imagine I felt quite silly when I remembered I'd last bought a packet of strawberry laces from Tesco.

After chirping to myself about what a silly billy I was, I decided to take off to Tesco.

No matter how determined I was, I just couldn't get me feet off the floor. These ASOS over the knee boots must have been weighing me down, the sexy idiots.

I gave them a good telling off.

All that flapping got me feeling flustered so I flung off my extra layer. It's not because I wanted to show off my sparkling Sister Jane skirt to attract a mysterious magpie or anything...

Turns out no magpie could resist that shine. One soon came swooping down with his chest puffed up and started being very flirty. He even took these photos for me, tried on my ASOS hat and gave my New Look jumper a little stroke.

I had to put my coat back on before another chap cooed at me and made my heart flutter.

Turns out my magpie had already got me a packet of strawberry laces in my advent calendar. I'm such a lucky bird.

Pastel Prints

Hello one and all and welcome to December! Tis officially the season to be jolly and I'm pretty darn excited, especially how this year instead of popping a little chocolate in my mouth every morning, my chap has made me an advent calendar and I get to unwrap a pressie each morning! Ain't I lucky? THANKS JAMES.

Anyway, enough of the Christmas boasting and on to a different kind of boasting. You may be aware of the fact that I'm a freelance copywriter at my favourite place on planet Earth, ASOS, and when I was last there it was sample sale day. What a glorious occasion it was. I got a rather large armful of things for a rather small amount of money and look at one of the dresses I scooped up.

This little honey had been sitting in my over-flowing saved items list for a long ol' time but I'm glad I left her getting dusty in the virtual world as she got to come home with me for a measly £2. Patience is key my friends.

She's perfect for any occasion, a night on the razz with your gal pals, a Christmas party or maybe a day of shopping and kicking around some crispy Autumn leaves.

You can guess which activity she assisted me on.

The thing is, she's a bit of a diva and insists you only wear things to compliment her exquisite colour scheme. (Her words, not mine). Even my lips had to be the perfect shade of purple. She bullied me until I cried and caved in.

She made me feel so vulnerable, although I finally managed to convince her that my DM's looked fabulous as a companion instead of a pair of lilac loafers or purple pumps.

After she apologised for being so bloody bossy, we were back on speaking terms and I agreed to wear this ASOS coat and River Island fluffy bag. Aren't they a match made in heaven?

She couldn't stop rubbing her smooth, scuba-like skin all over his fluffy body. It was enough to make me blush and I had to look away.

After splitting up the star-crossed lovers, she decided it was her time to shine and she didn't want her warm, lilac companion any longer.

After I started to turn a similar shade of purple from the icy wind, I decided enough was enough and covered the little show-off up again.

Guess who's on the naughty step this evening?

Until next time folks!xxx
